The Android and Apple iOS-connected watch will finally begin arriving to backers this month, but fans of Pebble may not receive their watch until March. The Pebble team confirmed today that production for the Pebble smartphone is already underway and will begin arriving to Kickstarter backers on January 23rd. The limited manufacturing capabilities of the company, which can produce only 15000 per week with its partners, means that the nearly 70000 Kickstarter backers who ordered a Pebble could have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the process to be complete. The watches will be shipped in the order that someone backed the project, so earliest backers will be among the first to receive their Pebble units. Non-Kickstarter customers who pre-ordered a device on the company’s website or are interested in purchasing Pebble will have to wait longer as production ramps up in the coming weeks. While the lengthy wait time will be disappointing to anxious users, Pebble has managed to deliver many of the features the company originally promised when the Kickstarter project began last year.
